Customers worldwide are turning to cloud storage solutions to replace or augment their existing enterprise storage environment. By utilizing "the cloud", IT managers are able to use operational budgets for archiving, redundancy and to provide surge storage capability for their organizations. Signiant has developed an EMC Atmos storage component for the Signiant Central Media Manager. This integration allows customers to seamlessly connect their digital media workflow with their cloud storage solutions for archiving or retrieving rich media. The Atmos component allows the Signiant Central Media Manager (CMM) to pass instructions and information to the cloud including source and destination endpoints, delivery options and email notification lists. Additionally, the Signiant CMM receives real-time status and notification when the digital package has been delivered. Signiant provides the essential management, automation, security and acceleration for the movement of content to the cloud, from the cloud and within the cloud.
An integrated Signiant and EMC Atmos offering provides numerous advantages for enterprise customers. Signiant can enhance transfer speeds across high latency networks (the Internet) by using accelerated file transfer protocols. Additionally, Signiant has many connectors that can facilitate the acquisition and preparation of content. Things such as hot-folder monitors, modules for Final-Cut Pro and many other connectors make Signiant beneficial to help get customers move data in and out of Atmos. Lastly, Signiant can automate processing of content while it is being transferred allowing customers to tailor their specific business processes to meet their requirements providing a robust digital media solution.
