The Truth about Digital: Fact vs. Fiction in the Digital Supply Chain

Predictions just a couple of years ago forecast a far more substantive impact of digital distribution than what has actually come to pass. The focus of this webinar is to answer the question: what happened? And why? And where should content providers be focused today?

The decline in digital consumption has prompted retailers and broadband providers to question the business model of digital distribution. Underpinning the decline in consumption are fundamental shifts that are increasingly out of the hands of content providers such as consumer behaviour, competition, and the overall retail environment.

To be successful, digital content providers must balance the three "C"s: Content, Capability and Customer. They must ensure that they have the right content, with the right distribution capability that alleviates customer challenges to consuming the content. These challenges include price, poor customer experience, lack of inter-operability, etc. While traditional content providers, such as studios (film and DVD) define their digital strategies, broadband providers and retailers are becoming smart quickly, realizing that a PC-based experience is not enough.
