SmartJog

Making content available worldwide   cost effectively and rapidly is becoming increasingly important to Signiant customers. With tight deadlines and budgets, the ability for companies to have the flexibility to effectively utilize their existing network infrastructure along with commercially available media services is paramount to minimizing costs and maximizing profits in today's environment. Using a combination of Signiant's Content Distribution Management (CDM) software and SmartJog's Global Media Management Services, customers can transparently bridge their workflow automation and file delivery services resulting in a broader media footprint.

Signiant's CDM software integration with the SmartJog services enables customers to interconnect end points in their network like never before. With the Smartjog media component installed on the extensible Central Media Manager (CMM), customers can tightly integrate their Signiant workflows and move digital packages to SmartJog endpoints throughout the world. Using the Smartjog component built using APIs, the Signiant Central Media Manager can pass instructions to the Smartjog service including which server to use; customer account numbers for billing; email notification lists and a number of other parameters. Additionally, the Signiant CMM can receive real time status and notification when the digital package has been delivered to the SmartJog endpoint.

There are three distinct parts to a Signiant-SmartJog workflow: schedule, execute and report/results.

• The SmartJog Drop Box component specifies the parameters relating to scheduling the workflow, such as when and how the job should run.

• The Signiant Simple, File List, FTP and SmartJog components are grouped together as part of the execution sequence that transfers files and instructions via FTP to the SmartJog edge server.

• The Drop Box Job Report and Job Report Exception components specify information relating to a job report about the SmartJog job, including recipients, e-mail subject line, number of report versions to maintain, and so on, on success and on error respectively.
