Media and entertainment veteran and Avid founding team member joins developer of digital media distribution management solutions
BURLINGTON, MA February 14, 2007 — Signiant™, Inc., the leading developer of digital media distribution management solutions for the media and entertainment industry, today announced that media industry veteran Rick Cramer has joined as Senior Vice President Global Operations. As a member of the Avid founding team, along with another Signiant Vice President Tom Ohanian, Rick will be part of the team bringing to market Signiant’s award-winning software solution which is designed to help rich media content creators and producers easily implement a digital media distribution strategy.
A 23-year veteran of the high-tech industry, Rick Cramer has a wealth of executive-level experience combined with expertise in growing software businesses from the start-up stage. Most recently he was part of the founding team of Centra and served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing. Rick helped establish and grow the company as a publicly listed leader in Web-based collaborative solutions and through to its recent acquisition by Saba Software.
Prior to Centra, Rick was a member of the founding team and an executive vice president at Avid Technology which quickly became the leading vendor for nonlinear editing and broadcast solutions. At Avid, Rick was responsible for field operations and helped grow annual revenues from zero to $400M, and was pivotal in Avid's successful IPO. Prior to Avid, Rick held sales and marketing positions with Apollo Computer and Xerox Corporation.
