Bitcentral Integrates Signiant Technology into its Entire Product Line; Offers Fast and Easy Upload of User-Generated News Content

BURLINGTON, MA March 20, 2007 — Signiant®, Inc., the leading developer of digital media distribution management solutions for the media and entertainment industry, today announced that Bitcentral, Inc., a provider of digital media content management and distribution solutions to the broadcast industry, is integrating Signiant technology into its entire range of products.

As a result of this strategic OEM partnership, broadcast news production organizations now have access to a unique solution that enables easy, safe and rapid uploads of news content from the field (end-users and roaming reporters). It will also allow news clips and associated metadata to be shared and accessed from within an owner group or between independent broadcast stations.

Bitcentral has already fully integrated Signiant’s Digital Media Distribution Management Technology into Oasis, Bitcentral’s dynamic media file sharing and asset management platform. Moving forward, Bitcentral will also embed Signiant’s technology into the rest of its product line including Précis (digital end-to-end play-to-air solution) and MediaPipe (content management and distribution solution) to provide its broadcast customers with new capabilities.

Thanks to Bitcentral’s integration of the Signiant technology, journalists in the field will be able to quickly and safely submit video files to the Oasis Station Server‘s central repository over the public internet. Using Signiant’s intelligent Media Accelerator technology, the transfer of files will be prioritized according to need and importance, and will achieve line-speed transfer-rates for large media files even over high latency networks.

Once the files are submitted, users across the organization’s broadcast sites will be able to instantly search and view thumbnails of the footage and its associated metadata. Should they choose to request video footage, the Signiant software will automatically deliver the requested video content from the stations where the footage resides to the Bitcentral system located at the requesting station.
