Signiant also announces new deployment packages
IBC, Amsterdam - September 7, 2007 — Signiant® Inc., the leading developer of digital media distribution management solutions for the media and entertainment industry, announces the immediate availability of the Digital Media Distribution Management Suite version 6.2, which will be showcased on Signiant's booth at IBC 2007. The new version features significant enhancements, including a new dashboard-style graphical user interface that provides unprecedented central management and control over digital file-based workflows.
Recently deployed at major worldwide broadcasters such as NBC Universal and leading post-production facilities such as LA-based Modern VideoFilm and London-based Pepper, the Signiant solution enables media and entertainment companies to more efficiently monetize their digital assets.
"The Signiant Digital Media Distribution Management Suite v6.2 extends the company's leadership in managing the movement of data in the digital media supply chain," said Tony Lapolito, Signiant's VP of Marketing. "With Signiant, companies in the media and entertainment industries can ensure that the right content gets to the right place at precisely the right time."
This latest version of Signiant's technology includes:
- A new dashboard-style graphical user interface that provides users with real time comprehensive views of all data movement throughout the digital media distribution system. With a new set of configurable, intuitive and interactive graphical tools, users are able to view overall network utilization and adjust how global network capacity is used. Because not all digital media transfers are created equally, users can dynamically change network bandwidth allocation to meet time to air priorities and deadlines.
- A complete view of the status of all running jobs, combining all activities into a systemic, comprehensive overview. Easy customization of relevant views and system attributes provide powerful information to media distribution administrators who can then make appropriate decisions on the intelligent utilization of finite and expensive network resources.
- A powerful geographic topological view of digital media agent status that provides continuous feedback, enabling users to reroute critical transfers based on site and agent availability.
- Additional failover reliability and contingency planning flexibility offered by Red Hat™ clustered servers.
- Media Exchange, which enables agent-less, WAN accelerated transfers using an internet browser to extend the reach of the Signiant-enabled network beyond the corporation's central backbone
- Media Streaming SDK which enables ISVs or OEMs to embed Signiant technology into their streaming-compatible products, to support managed streaming of data files among their product installations.
New Deployment Packages
To coincide with the availability of the new version of the Signiant Digital Media Distribution Management Suite, Signiant also announces a new set of three product solutions, developed specifically to offer solutions to the most popular deployment scenarios for Signiant's technology.
Designed to be installed with minimal site preparation and configuration work, the Signiant Deployment Packages address specific workflow inefficiencies or to extend the current capabilities of an existing web infrastructure.
Signiant Deployment Packages may be expanded in terms of geographic scalability and functionality, and may also be upgraded to the full Signiant Digital Media Distribution Management Suite.
Three options are available:
- Deployment Package #1: Signiant Managed Accelerator - enables themanaged, secured and accelerated movement of large digital media content. The movements may be centrally controlled, with network provisioning, oversight and management of dynamic bandwidth utilization across a Signiant virtualized network, and accelerated between Signiant agents.
- Deployment Package #2: Signiant Media Exchange - addresses the need for broadcasters and post-production facilities to provide a WAN-accelerated, secure and reliable alternative to FTP-based file transfers with their business partners and field acquisition crews. Media Exchange is web-services ready and requires no specialized software to be installed on the remote computers or mobile devices providing quick and easy delivery of user-generated content from the field.
- Deployment Package #3: Signiant Managed Accelerator for Avid - allows the managed, secure and accelerated movement of large Avid-native media files across the wide area network. Avid users can prioritize the transfer of their files with respect to other traffic demands and business requirements. It is compatible with any Avid nonlinear editing system that uses the Avid Transfer Manager v4.5 protocol.
