An aerial view of Las Vegas at night.

Heading to NAB there’s always an air of anticipation about what new trends and technology highlights will emerge from the show. While many conversations are likely to centre on developments and the uptake of VR and AR technology and what will excite consumers, the continued exponential growth of digital content creation also warrants discussion on advancements in how to support complex workflows including the storage, movement and security of large media files. With production and post-production houses no longer confined to the walls of the facility, workflows are now global and access to content on the go needs to be fast, streamlined, secure and simplistic.

NAB Trends to Watch for Media Operations:

  • How are media and entertainment companies using the cloud? Is it cost effective, reliable and secure enough for the media industry?
  • With media files getting larger and larger, what are trends in both cloud and local storage that media companies should be aware of?
  • With security breaches at the top of the news cycles, what are media and entertainment companies doing to protect their digital assets?
  • What tools are available to automate complex digital workflows?

As you traverse the giant exhibition hall, these are some interesting questions and trends for Media Operations folks to be thinking about. We’d certainly be glad to give you our take so please visit us at Booth SL8711 or schedule a meeting with us to learn more. As always, we’re excited to see what trends will emerge from NAB 2017 and we look forward to seeing you there.
