PMG Moves to File-based Delivery with Signiant

Signiant will be a key technology partner in allowing PMG to distribute a diverse amount of content from various sources across the globe. Signiant allows PMG to deploy peer-to-peer content networking within the FOX, Sky and the wider News family in addition to easily exchanging content with other key Signiant partners.

Challenge:

  • Design an optimal workflow to help deliver PMG’s extensive library of broadcasting channels including Fox Sports, Fox Sports News and Fuel TV.
  • Find a more efficient way to move PMG’s media and content via mobile devices and Web.
  • Find a way to deliver content that would eliminate a number of unsustainable FTP-style solutions.

Solution:

  • Replace existing tape-based workflows using Signiant file movement software.
  • Streamline the acquisition and management of file-based content across all of PMG’s channels.
  • Make a cost-effective, simple and scalable way to transfer content.

 Results:

  • Helped PMG have tight integration with the existing non-linear production workflow.
  • Replaced manual intervention with scalable and error free automation.
  • Work on one platform to simplify management and future development.
