This privacy policy describes how Signiant, Inc. collects and uses the personal information you provide on our service platform. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information.

Signiant, Inc. complies with the U.S. – Swiss Safe Harbor framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal data from Switzerland. Signiant, Inc. has certified that it adheres to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement. EU-U.S. Privacy Shield

Signiant Inc. participates in and has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. Signiant Inc. is committed to subjecting all personal data received from European Union (EU) member countries, in reliance on the Privacy Shield Framework, to the Framework’s applicable Principles. Signiant Inc.is responsible for the processing of personal data it receives, under the Privacy Shield Framework, and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. Signiant Inc. complies with the Privacy Shield Principles for all onward transfers of personal data from the EU, including the onward transfer liability provisions.

With respect to personal data received or transferred pursuant to the Privacy Shield Framework, Signiant Inc. is subject to the regulatory enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. In certain situations, Signiant, Inc. may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Under certain conditions, more fully described on the Privacy Shield website https://www.privacyshield.gov, you may invoke binding arbitration when other dispute resolution procedures have been exhausted.

Service Provider Collection/Use:

We collect the following kinds of personal information from our Clients on the Signiant service platform:

  • Contact Information such as name, email address
  • Unique Identifiers such as account number, password

We also collect the following information from our Clients

  • Information about the file transfer such as number of files, file name, bytes transferred, transfer speed, elapsed time, direction of transfer and status
  • Information about the computer and network environment such as browser type and version, IP address, macAddress, server name, and network protocol
  • Information about the usage of our software such as version used and features used

We use this information to

  • Fulfill your order
  • Respond to customer service requests
  • Install and update software
  • Operate the software as designed including file transfer and email notification
  • Allow you to monitor and report on file transfer activity and status
  • Administer your account
  • Improve product support

Information Related to Data Collected through the Service Platform

Signiant, Inc. collects information under the direction of its Clients, and has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. Signiant, Inc. works with its Clients to help them provide notice to their customers concerning, the purpose for which personal information is collected.  If you are a customer of one of our Clients and would no longer like to be contacted by one of our Clients that use our service, please contact the Client that you interact with directly.  We may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service.

Choice

We collect information for our clients, if you are a customer of one of our Clients and would no longer like to be contacted by one of our Clients that use our service, please contact the client that you interact with directly. Service Provider, Sub-Processors/Onward Transfer

Signiant, Inc. may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the provisions in this Policy regarding notice and choice and the service agreements with our Clients.

Access to Data Controlled by our Clients:

Signiant, Inc. has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to the Signiant, Inc.’s Client (the data controller). If requested to remove data we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Upon request Signiant Inc. will provide you with information about whether we hold, or process on behalf of a third party, any of your personal information.

Data Retention:

Signiant, Inc. will retain personal data we process on behalf of our Clients for as long as needed to provide services to our Client. Signiant, Inc. will retain this personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. To request this information please go to the Contact Administrator section of your Profile/Account.

Security:

The security of your personal information and our clients’ information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as login credentials) we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Tracking Technologies

Technologies such as: cookies, beacons, tags and scripts are used by Signiant, Inc. and our partners, affiliates, or analytics or service providers. These technologies are used in analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual as well as aggregated basis.

We use cookies to remember users’ settings (e.g. language preference). Users can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some features or areas of our site may be limited.

Passive Collection

As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data.

We may combine this automatically collected log information with other information we collect about you. We do this to improve services we offer you, to improve marketing, analytics, and site functionality.

Material Change:

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes we will notify you or our Client by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on our Site prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.

Disclosure of Information for Law enforcement

We may also disclose personal information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request, or to any other third party with your prior consent to do so.

In certain situations, Signiant Inc. may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

In the event goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personal information will likely be among the assets transferred. You will be notified via email or prominent notice on our Site for 30 days of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
