Connected / Intelligence

The connection you already use to move files can also find, reach, and add intelligence to your content wherever it lives.

Definition

What is Connected / Intelligence?

Connected / Intelligence describes the set of capabilities the Signiant Platform provides to give you visibility, access, and action on content wherever it lives.

Connected means reaching content where it already sits and making it visible, reachable, and governable there. Intelligence adds understanding to that same content, or takes reasoned action on it.

4,500+

Storage endpoints the Signiant Platform is already connected to, built up from more than twenty years of moving this industry’s highest-value files. Already governed and already permissioned, so for most customers there is nothing to build first.

What the Connection Gives You

Visibility, access, and action, without moving the content

Visibility

Find it without knowing where it is

Work stops while people hunt, and the library earns nothing while they do. One search covers every connected storage location at once, so a producer who cannot say which system holds a shot still finds it, with your existing camera, technical, and custom metadata attached.

Access

Access it without an account on that storage

Every system with its own login is another set of credentials to administer and another queue to wait in. Access through the Signiant Platform follows the roles and single sign-on your administrators already run, so an editor with no login on that storage, and a reviewer outside the company, both reach the file where it sits.

Action

Use it without moving it

Work on content usually starts by moving it: pull it down, stage it somewhere, push the result back. Signiant Pulse runs the work where the content already sits, so clips get cut, sequences assembled, and metadata enrichment run against the file on your storage rather than a copy staged for the job.

Use Cases

What teams do with it

Intelligence

Connect and run your own AI models and agents

The Signiant Platform is model-agnostic exactly as it is storage-agnostic. Connect your own model to the same connection and intelligence gets applied to your content where it already sits, rather than in a separate system you would have to migrate the library into: insight into what you have, enrichment written back alongside your existing metadata, and workflows an agent can carry out. You run the model in your own account, and changing it later changes nothing about how your content is stored.

Insight

What the library actually holds, by type, by location, and if duplicated. The answer comes from the index rather than from a spreadsheet somebody maintains by hand.

Enrichment

Content and scene descriptions, transcripts, tags, and captions, written back into the index beside the file. Ask for the goal celebration with the red jerseys and get the clip, because the platform now knows what is in the frame.

Agent-driven Workflows

Work proposed and carried out against rules you set rather than one instruction at a time, with an audit trail on every action and controls on what agents are allowed to spend.

Other Software

Connect non-media business software

Yes. Models are not the only thing that connects through the Signiant MCP Server. Any capable software can, over the same standard protocol, which means the systems that hold your business context can meet the content without an integration project between them. Schedules, contracts, rights and avails, compliance records, and whatever else your operation runs on.
That matters because the answer to a real request almost never lives in one system. Your scheduling system knows what is airing on the fourteenth and what has to be in hand before it does. Your rights system knows what you are allowed to send, to whom, in which territory, and until when. Signiant knows what you actually hold, where it sits, and whether it conforms to the spec.

Connect all three and an agent can work across them: look up the schedule, match it against what is indexed, confirm the rights before anything moves, and coordinate the delivery, with a record of every call.
Signiant does not hold your rights data and does not try to. It holds the connection to the content, the index of what is there, the lineage and delivery history, and the governance around all of it. Your systems of record stay where they are and keep doing their jobs.

Integration runs through Signiant Professional Services.

What to Buy

Which services deliver it

There is no line item called Connected / Intelligence. You buy the service that does your job, and if you are already a Signiant Platform customer some of it comes with what you already have.

Service

What it does

Signiant Pulse Essentials

Free tier, included with the Signiant Platform

Federated search across connected storage, proxyless playback, scene detection, clip creation, and accelerated transfer.

Pulse Review & Approve

Review cycles against content in place, with comments, approvals, and version context attached to the asset on your storage.

Pulse Plus

Enrichment in place with your chosen model, for more dynamic visibility, access, and action across your storage locations.

Pulse AI Studio

The agentic tier. Prompt-driven workflows across editorial and ad operations, lineage and delivery history, governed skill grants, and cost controls on agent activity.

Validation before delivery. Assets checked against your technical and delivery specifications while they are still on your storage.

Signiant MCP Server

Governed access to the platform through the Model Context Protocol, for your AI models and your other software alike. Currently 39 tools, 25 of them read-only.

Every one of these works against your content where it already lives, on the connection you already have. Nothing moves to a new system first, and nothing waits on a migration before it starts working.

Frequently asked questions

Is Connected / Intelligence a product I can buy?

No. The Signiant Platform provides Connected / Intelligence, and you buy the services that deliver it rather than the layer itself. Those services include Signiant Pulse and its tiers, Signiant Verify, the file transfer products, and the Signiant MCP Server. There is no separate line item called Connected / Intelligence.

I am already a Signiant customer. Do I already have this?

Partly, and some of it comes with what you already run. Signiant Pulse Essentials is the free tier included with the Signiant Platform, so the base capability arrives with the platform itself. Signiant Verify, the Signiant MCP Server, and the Pulse Plus and Pulse AI Studio tiers are separate services. Your account team can confirm what your current agreement covers and what adding any of them involves.

Does Signiant still do file transfer?

Yes, and it remains the front door for most customers: Media Shuttle for people, Jet for systems, and Flight Deck for the largest operations. What has changed is that moving a file is one of the things the connection does rather than the only one. The same governed connection now provides visibility, access, and action on content where it already lives, which is what Signiant Pulse delivers.

What is the difference between a connected service and an intelligent service?

A connected service makes content visible, reachable, and governable where it already lives, with a person making the decisions. An intelligent service adds machine understanding, such as a generated scene description, or takes reasoned action, such as an agent checking a catalog against a delivery specification. Every intelligent service is a connected service. Not every connected service is intelligent.

What does the figure of more than 4,500 storage connections count?

It counts storage endpoints the Signiant Platform is already connected to across its customer base: on-premises storage systems, cloud object storage buckets, and partner environments. It is a measure of how far the connection already reaches, not a transfer or performance statistic. The point of the number is that for most media companies the connection layer is already deployed.

Where does the index live, and what is in it?

The index is maintained by the Signiant Platform and holds what the platform knows about your content: file and technical metadata, the location it sits in, and any machine-generated understanding you enable, such as scene descriptions, transcripts, or tags. Your content itself is not copied into it. The files stay on the storage you already own, and the index points at them there.

Which AI models can run on my content?

The Signiant Platform is model-agnostic, exactly as it is storage-agnostic. You can run your own model in your own account, reached through the Signiant MCP Server or run by Signiant agents against content in place, or connect a third-party analysis service you already buy. Changing models later does not change how your content is stored.

What business systems can I connect through the Signiant MCP Server?

Any software capable of speaking the Model Context Protocol, which is the same way AI models connect. In practice that means the systems holding your business context: scheduling, contracts, rights and avails, compliance records, and internal applications. Connected that way, an agent can look up a schedule, match it against what Signiant has indexed, confirm rights before anything moves, and coordinate the delivery, with a record of every call.

Does Signiant hold my rights or scheduling data?

No. Signiant holds the connection to your content, the index of what is on your storage, the lineage and delivery history, and the governance around all of it. Rights, avails, schedules, and contracts stay in the systems of record you already run. Connecting those systems through the Signiant MCP Server is what lets a workflow use both without either system taking over the other’s job.

How does Connected / Intelligence relate to Visibility, Access, and Action?

Connected / Intelligence is the set of capabilities that provides them. Visibility, Access, and Action are the outcomes the Signiant Platform exists to give you over your content, and Connected / Intelligence is how it delivers them on content wherever it lives.
