Signiant Appoints Mike Flathers to Spearhead M&E Customer Solutions

Mike Flathers

LEXINGTON, MA – September 03, 2020 – Signiant Inc. today announced that Mike Flathers is joining the company in the newly created role of Chief Solutions Officer. He is a member of Signiant’s senior leadership team and reports directly to CEO Margaret Craig.

As media companies adapt their workflows to adjust to new industry dynamics and a multi-cloud, hybrid cloud world, the Signiant SDCX (Software Defined Content Exchange) SaaS platform has become a foundational part of their next-generation infrastructure. Flathers will support growing customer demand for deep engagement on how to best employ this platform to address emerging technical and operational challenges, and he will connect this exchange of ideas directly into the company’s product development organization.

“As Signiant’s offerings evolve beyond fast file movement, the mission-critical role we play within media companies continues to expand in very interesting ways. Mike’s knowledge of the industry and his technical skills will be huge assets as we rise to the challenge of working ever more closely with our customers as a strategic partner,” notes Craig. Signiant CTO Ian Hamilton adds, “We have a very ambitious vision for the SDCX platform. Mike is ideally suited to drive the evolution of various platform services and APIs in alignment with customer needs.”

“Signiant is an innovative company that is uniquely positioned to play a central role in the modern media technology stack. I’m excited to join the team at this time of change in the industry, and look forward to being part of the company’s high-growth SaaS success story,” said Flathers.

Flathers is a seasoned technology executive with a long history of contributions to the media technology sector. He joins Signiant from IBM Aspera, where he was most recently Aspera CTO and an IBM Distinguished Engineer. An expert in IP networking technology, he spent 8 years at Aspera and remained with the company after its acquisition by IBM. Earlier in his career he held positions at Novell and Sorenson Media.
