Introducing Inter-company Content Exchange in Jet

The underside of an airplane wing.

Ever since its debut in 2019, Signiant Jet has been empowering media organizations around the globe by making it easier than ever before to automate system-to-system content exchange between locations within a company. Now, as we strive to continue expanding on our arsenal of tools to align with market trends, Signiant is excited to introduce inter-company content exchange within Jet.

While the initial launch of Jet was focused on automating transfers within an organization, the conditions of the modern M&E landscape see the majority of businesses working with a wide range of partners in order to produce high quality content — like film studios with post-production houses, etc. While our Media Shuttle solution has long helped individuals transfer files among each other, many of these enterprises require automation, as well, in order to facilitate the massive, recurring transfers across their supply chains.

Jet’s inter-company content exchange allows just this: the automated transfer of files between partners and collaborators within the media ecosystem.

How Does it Work?

As with all of our solutions, Jet’s inter-company capability is designed to be extremely easy to use. For any organization that has used Jet to create internal routes, the process is almost identical.

Creating Partner Routes and Jobs

Once both the source and destination partners have Jet installed and configured, they can create a partner route by generating a unique code which will authorize a secure connection between two endpoints, with each partner contributing one connector. Once a partner route is established, they can then create and authenticate jobs over the partner route. This straightforward, streamlined framework — wherein each partner has control over their own environment — minimizes operational overhead and ensures high security standards.

Best of all, Jet works with a partner’s existing Media Shuttle infrastructure. This means that once Jet is licensed there’s no need to set-up separate SDCX Servers. Every component necessary to allow server-to-server Jet transfers already exists within their existing Signiant SDCX Servers.

Jet Keeps Your Content Safe and Your Partners in the Know

As with all of our solutions, security and visibility are cornerstones of the Jet experience. With inter-company jobs, organizations are able to confidently create a secure connection between two organizations, establishing a trusted network of partners with whom they work regularly.

A key feature of this confidence comes in the form of the Jet dashboard, which allows both organizations to constantly monitor a transfer: they know what files are being sent, when it will be completed, and which files — if any — are in an error state. While other solutions provide visibility from the perspective of the sender, recipients too often don’t have the same luxury. For partnerships that extend across time zones, that mutual transparency is vital, and Jet provides it in an easy to understand, centralized hub.

Modern Solutions for Modern Media Relationships

As media supply chains and workflows become increasingly complex, and file sizes balloon with the introduction of new formats, resolutions, and effects, it’s essential that organizations have access to tools that allow them to effectively collaborate with their partners. In the past, Jet has helped enterprises manage their own content ecosystems, automating transfers between locations and storage environments. Now, Jet is bringing that same power, speed, security, and smart automation to the partner relationships that define all the best media being produced.

With inter-company content exchange, Jet makes it easy and secure to automate content exchange with partners.
