Berliner Synchron Chooses Signiant for Fast, Secure, and Managed File Exchanges With Business Partners

Premier German Dubbing Studio Building Value-Added Service Based on Signiant for Accelerated Workflows With Distributor Clients

BURLINGTON, MA (July 13, 2011)— Berliner Synchron, Germany’s premier cinema dubbing and synchronization studio, has chosen the Signiant Content Point solution to enable managed and accelerated, secure point-to-point digital file exchanges with the company’s key distributor customers. The Signiant technology is at the core of a new, value-added service that Berliner Synchron will offer its clients to streamline workflows and bring new efficiencies to the dubbing process.

“We have built our business on top-shelf service and the highest-quality dubbing of films in all European languages, and we are proud of the long-term business relationships we have established with the world’s foremost distributors of motion picture content,” said Oliver Goullon, Head of IT at Berliner Synchron. “And now, with Signiant, we’ll be able to help our clients maximize the revenue potential of their movies and other programs by speeding the distribution of foreign language versions to the worldwide market.”

Berliner Synchron is Germany’s oldest and largest film dubbing studio, with a global reputation for producing the German language versions of the world’s most recognized film titles. Berliner Synchron sought a solution that would enable it to rapidly exchange digital film stock with its clients – with the goal of shortening workflows and reducing the inherent risk and delays of shipping physical film. In the first phase of the project, Berliner Synchron chose Signiant Content Point to create secure and managed connections with its clients over the company’s WAN. Via the Signiant Acceleration Protocol (SAP), Content Point enables fast, reliable, and secure movement of files and gives Berliner Synchron complete control over the transactions, providing tools for monitoring, tracking, and reporting.

In the second phase of the content exchange project, Berliner Synchron plans to expand Content Point in conjunction with Signiant’s Content Distribution Management software to completely automate all post-production workflows and connect with distributor customers as well as subcontractors.

“From its founding in 1949, Berliner Synchron has set the standard for high-quality dubbing and the company continues to innovate today – as clearly shown by its adoption of the Signiant technology to accelerate file exchanges and strengthen customer service,” said Joachim Bause, general manager of Central Europe for Signiant. “As demonstrated by Berliner Synchron, Signiant Content Point is an ideal solution for companies with smaller IT infrastructures and pipelines that need to connect with other Signiant-enabled organizations. Content Point also allows users  to manage the transfers initiated by the partner, but it also is an ideal entry point for companies to build a more robust infrastructure based on Signiant’s peer-enabled Content Distribution Management software.”
