Signiant announced new capabilities and impressive adoption metrics for the innovative cloud-native SaaS platform that is driving the company's growth. Widely embraced as an integral part of the shift toward hybrid cloud and multi-cloud infrastructure, the Signiant SaaS platform continues to evolve and grow.

Reflecting on the NAB show this year, I was struck by two extremes: emerging technology that’s still fringe like 8K video, and dying technology that’s still in use such as FTP. The media industry has long pushed technology forward, yet it’s surprising how much old technology still lingers in the industry's infrastructure.

Today, Signiant announced new customers from the world’s top Media & Entertainment companies, a trend that has been building over the past few years, with organizations throughout the industry increasingly choosing Signiant for mission-critical file movement needs.

After months of preparation the annual convention of the National Association of Broadcasters has come and gone. It’s no surprise that the theme of this year’s show centered around media, entertainment, and technology (NAB dubs it The M.E.T Effect ). It was clear, on and off the show floor, that the need for speed is more important than ever before.

Signiant announced the launch of three major platform advancements at NAB 2017. Focused on aligning with customers’ top technical and operational priorities, the company will showcase new developments in accelerated transport to the cloud, universal access for the entire ecosystem, and storage choice.

Heading to NAB there’s always anticipation about what trends and technology highlights will emerge. While many conversations are likely to centre on developments and the uptake of VR and AR technology, the continued growth of digital content creation also warrants discussion on how to support complex workflows including the storage, movement and security of large media files.

Since those years of the NAB Grand Alliance and the Internet advocates, lots and lots has happened.

As the popularity of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions grows apace, Signiant, the market leader in intelligent file movement software, will present the company’s industry-leading SaaS solutions on Booth SL6605 at NAB 2016. The Signiant team will be on hand to demonstrate the latest enhancements to both Media Shuttle, the de facto standard for hands-on file movement, and Flight, the industry’s first and only SaaS utility for automated transfer to and from cloud object storage.
