February 2021 M&E events: a Signiant primer

A room full of black chairs.

2021 is already off to a fast start, and Signiant is excited to share some upcoming February events with you. While we all miss connecting at in-person events, the virtual conferences offer great content to a broader audience and Signiant is excited to participate in the following industry events.

Streaming Media Connect

February 16-19

The growing power of online video has never been clearer than it is now, and this even serves up a week’s worth of free webinars where industry experts will explore what the last year demonstrated for OTT innovators, and where this sector is going next.

On Thursday, February 18 from 2:45 to 3 PM EST, Signiant’s director of platform management Bill Thompson will be participating in The Inside Scoop: Tech Talks with Industry Leaders, discussing how media companies use Signiant Jet to automate content distribution. Driven by an explosion of streaming services distribution has quickly become more global and more complex. With Jet, powerful automation capabilities are now accessible to businesses of any size.

SVG Sports Production Tools Virtual Forum

February 17-18

2020 was a transformative year for sports media and remote production played a larger role than it ever has. As teams, leagues, and broadcasters all look to adapt to their new normal, the importance of flexible and reliable solutions is at the front of everyone’s minds.

Joining Signiant’s chief solutions officer Mike Flathers, executives from EVS and Blackmagic Design explore what remote working has done to the industry and how intelligent file transfer solutions have been central to this model. In Decentralized Production Tools, February 17 from 2:45 to 3:30, the panel looks at what a decentralized, virtual production environment means for organizations, and how different tools have facilitated its rise to prominence.

SVG TEAMS Summit Virtual Event

February 25, 1:00-5:00 PM EST

Looking even further into how COVID-19 has impacted production and distribution in professional sports, SVG’s TEAMS Summit brings  together dozens of industry veterans to explore what the future might look like, and just how the industry might get there.

Mike Flathers will be introducing the Team Perspectives: In-Studio Productions panel, which will air from 1:05 to 1:50 PM EST. The panel includes producers from the New York Jets, the New York Giants, the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and the Las Vegas Raiders discussing the intricacies, challenges, and innovations of their mid-week routine, including pre and post-game content, and the ways they move and distribute these essential assets.

MESA Content Workflow Management Summit

February 25, 12:30-5:30 PM GMT

Known as “M&E’s Premiere Localisation Event,” this year’s MESA Content Workflow Management Summit brings together industry leaders in everything from AI to broadcast distribution. Fittingly, the theme for the summit is remote work, and Signiant will be there with our own virtual booth to discuss how our Software-Defined Content Exchange (SDCX) SaaS platform has proven invaluable for organizations around the world invested in remote work and remote collaboration during the pandemic and beyond.

Industry events aren’t stopping

Media happens everywhere, and the M&E industry has no intention of slowing down. We look forward to sharing insights and connecting (albeit virtually) with others from the industry at these upcoming events.
