    What is iPerf?

iPerf is a command-line tool that allows IT personnel to check transfer speeds between a given source and destination, based on factors such as bandwidth. While iPerf is a third-party tool unassociated with Signiant, it is a tool we use regularly to help diagnose network conditions when deploying our software.

5G might ride the remote wave

5G could not have begun to establish itself at a more fitting moment. For broadcasters and production companies that want to keep their teams safe and socially distant, build more flexible content creation strategies, and experiment with new technologies and resolutions, 5G provides clear support, making it easier to connect personnel and files.

“Separating Signal from Noise” explores the mechanics of machine learning at Signiant

Signiant helps M&E companies leverage machine learning today both directly and indirectly, directly by leveraging machine learning in our patent-pending intelligent transport architecture. That architecture looks at a variety of inputs from both current and historical network conditions to determine the best possible path to move a particular data set over a network under the current conditions.

The 2020 MLB Draft proves to be a home run for remote production

Of the many live sports events that have leveraged remote production technology to return to the field in the wake of COVID-19, one of the earliest and most impressive was the 2020 NFL Draft, which was held over three days in late April. This month, we’ve seen this spirit once again as the 2020 MLB Draft airs between June 10th and June 11th, bringing baseball fans some of the excitement they’ve been deferred.

Having worked as a Signiant SI partner for many years, this deepening of the relationship between the two is an obvious next step given Signiant’s proven capabilities and partnership with key MAM technology partners of Chesapeake Systems and of StorExcel, the company which Chesapeake Systems acquired in April.

As the PGA Tour looks to resume, smaller events offer helpful guidelines

As other leagues have shown in the past few weeks, staying adaptable and alert as to conditions and challenges is the key to a stellar return to play. With the proper protocol and regulation, the PGA Tour could be yet another story of triumph — a real hole-in-one.
